Here at Johns Manville, we believe Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) in our workplace is critical for the long-term success of our company. We are committed to retaining, developing and attracting a diverse workforce that fosters an inclusive work environment in which all employees are treated with dignity and respect. This is the right thing to do for our employees, our company and our communities.
Our D&I Council is composed of employees in North America and Europe. The Council meets regularly and works to promote and foster an environment of inclusion in many ways. They advocate for inclusivity through content, engagement, discussion, understanding, allyship and training. Throughout the year, JM recognizes more than two dozen D&I-focused recognition days, weeks and months. The Council encourages all employees to take part in celebrating the value of D&I.
Our D&I Council has an exciting plan of events and initiatives for 2022. We can’t wait to share them with you throughout the year. First, we are kicking off the year with the rollout of two JM Employee Resource Groups: embRACE (focused on general race and culture topics) and WIN@JM (focused on supporting women in the workplace). Other groups focusing on individuals with disabilities, the LGBTQIA+ community and military veterans will be introduced later this year.
These groups, with direction and support from the D&I Council, will promote content, events, educational materials and more to help JMers stay informed of each groups’ unique perspectives.
