About half of the schools’ total roof area at the Dutch Fork High School campus in Irmo, South Carolina was due for a new roof. Representatives from School District Five of Lexington & Richland Counties worked with a roofing consultant to specify that the new roof area be ENERGY STAR® compliant and LEED certified. The first phase of the job covered 87,500 square feet that spanned over nine different roof areas.

Marcus High School is one of more than 65 facilities that comprise the Lewisville Independent School District (LISD). Located north of the Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport, the massive 127-square mile district serves more than 53,000 students. Over a decades-long partnership, Johns Manville and Martin-Tomlinson Roofing Company (M-T) have built a great track record with LISD and have completed dozens of roofing projects for the school district together.

Summit High School (SHS) expanded its main building by 35,200 square feet. Arapahoe Roofing and Sheet Metal, Inc. won the job to roof this major addition. As a long-time Johns Manville partner, Arapahoe worked with the District’s facilities manager to choose a complete JM system that included 75 mil reinforced membrane as specified by the architect. The old three-tab shingles on the De Portola Middle School roof were deteriorating and dislodging. The transition point of the asphalt shingles to a low-slope, built-up roof was weakening and leaks were starting to occur. With a new building nearby on the campus, the original middle school was showing its age. Looking for a durable solution and the need to give the school a more contemporary look, project architect Ruth Fajarit-Davis of Zagrodnik + Thomas Architects turned to Johns Manville.

Annunciation Orthodox School began in 1970 as a ministry of Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in the midtown area of Houston. Over the years, it has grown from a single classroom focused on early childhood development to a co-educational school averaging 670 students in grades pre-K to 8.
