Sustainability

Johns Manville has been in business for 160 years, and developed a sustainability focus long before it became popular to do so. Today we’re as committed as ever to achieving and maintaining sustainable operations that meet the needs of our current stakeholders, as well as those of future generations. As part of our formal commitment to sustainability, in 2009 we set out to develop sustainability goals, and decided to begin publishing an ongoing sustainability report.
JM’s sustainability reports are created using the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) framework. The reports present our approach to sustainability and our progress toward achieving long-term sustainability goals. Within these reports you’ll find information and case studies about our goals to reduce the energy and carbon intensity of our operations, reduce our solid waste, and increase the use of recycled materials. The reports also highlight our social responsibility in the areas of safety, employee practices and community investment.
At JM, our culture of sustainability is a great source of pride, and we’re pleased to share our progress with our stakeholders on a regular basis.
