Energy efficiency is in the limelight consistently these days and people are frequently looking for the next big thing to save energy. Few people, however, look towards technology that has been around as long as insulation. We all know that it requires a lot of energy to attain certain temperatures in mechanical systems the part that is less recognized is how much energy it takes to maintain that temperature. Mechanical insulation is the "forgotten technology," that can provide the greatest benefit when striving for energy efficiency.
