Johns Manville's Hillsboro Plant Gives Back to Their Local Community

Our team at the new plant in Hillsboro, TX has been quick to make an impact on their local community. In December, a group of our employees shopped at Walmart to purchase toys and jackets for the local Optimist Club. Each year the Optimist Club works to provide gifts and clothes to kids in need in the Hillsboro Community. Our employees purchased $500 dollars in both clothes and jackets and dropped it off. When dropping off the items to the Optimist Club, our team inquired who would be wrapping the gifts. The Optimist Club informed them that they depend on volunteers to help wrap everything that is brought in.

The team knew that taking in their donations was just the first step of helping the Optimist Club and their efforts to bring joy to children in the community. On Monday, December 13, 2021 our whole production team and our Production Supervisor, Brian Girard, arrived to help the Optimist Club wrap all of the donations they received.

“I have never done anything like this with work and to know that JM cares not only about us but also our community is an amazing feeling.” – Edgar Salvador

“It feels good to do something nice for people in need.” – Oscar Beltran

Our JM team was featured in the local newspaper as the largest group to volunteer to wrap the donations. This event has really inspired the team at Hillsboro who can’t wait to look for more opportunities like this one to make a difference in their local community.

In addition to Hillsboro, our plant in Scottsboro, AL worked with a local high school that needed food and hygiene products for several students. The team hosted donation drive to collect several items that were later delivered to the high school.
